to the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society

the Library of Genealogy and Local History

Welcome Van Zandt County Researchers! The Van Zandt County Genealogical Society hosts this web site to help our members and visitors locate their ancestors. Our purpose is to provide assistance to all genealogical researchers everywhere, to promote the sharing of information and to provide as much online research and historical information as possible. We hope you will find us helpful and we will be very pleased to assist you in any way that we can. The Van Zandt County Genealogical Society can be reached by snail-mail at: P.O. Box 1388, Canton, TX 75103, and by phone: (903)567-5012.

When sending an email request, please be specific, such as requesting a marriage record, a census record, a school record, etc. We regret that we can not do research for "any information" or "all information" for any individual or family who once lived in Van Zandt County. We have neither the time nor the knowledge of your family to do any deep researching. However a general "any and all" request for info is always welcomed by our Quarterly Staff for our Qery Section. Your general requests will be placed in the society's quarterly publication. When sending a request, please put the subject of your request in the subject line; and if requesting something that might be available to be mailed to you, please include your mailing address. If you need specialized research done, some of our members do private research for a fee. You can contact the VZCo Genealogical Society via e-mail and one of our researchers will contact you.

If you need something looked up, please contact our lookup volunteers or visit the Library of Genealogy and Local History. We are open Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you wish for your request to be published as a query it should be directed to us as a query that can be placed in an issue of Our Heritage.

Before you leave, please sign our guestbook. We really do welcome your comments and suggestions!

Web Site hosted by the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society:

The wonderful graphics on this website were generously provided free of charge. A link to the individual sites will be placed at the bottom of each page. These folks provide some of their works free to non-commercial sites. These folk's "terms of use" requires us to be careful not to furnish the images to others so please do not copy them from our site. Also, we do not "mix and match" images from more than one source on each page. We have tried to place proper credit on each page of this website but if we have overlooked a page or two we do apologize and if we are advised of this oversight, we will make every effort to correct it.
